Manifest Destiny’s Child is a provocative, intelligent, often hilarious account of how America lost its way and woke up in Trumplandia. This is Dennis Trainor Jr’s true account told from a unique perspective from behind the front lines of U.S. protests and politics. From left-leaning protest movements like Occupy Wall Street to serving as Communications Director for the 2016 Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein, Trainor’s personal narrative carries audiences on a journey that takes an honest look at (so-called) American Exceptionalism— the wind beneath the wings of Manifest Destiny— and how that 'privilege' has affected both the personal and political.

Dennis Trainor Jr is a performer, playwright, filmmaker, and activist known for his thought-provoking and politically charged works that shed light on the complexities of American society. As an actor, Trainor has extensive credits in Boston and New York, including most recently as Henry Wilcox in the regional premiere of Mathew Lopez's The Inheritance at Speakeasy Stage in Boston. As a playwright, previous plays include Plug ("A clever, infectious, caffeinated jolt" – Village Voice) and I Coulda Been A Kennedy ("an ambitious yawp of a play, surreal and boisterous and full of political choler." – Time Out NY). As a filmmaker, his on-the-ground documentary on the Occupy movement, American Autumn, garnered critical acclaim ("Calm, and smart, offsetting its stridency with humor" – New York Times, "Impresses where many docs disappoint" – Variety).

David Esbjornson (Director) has directed a staggeringly impressive list of world premières, including Tony Kushner's Angels in America as well as world and Broadway premières of plays by SUSAN-LORI PARKS, Edward Albee, and Arthur Miller, to name just a few.
